Ajay Devgn pokes fun at Saif, Kareena
Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor are miffed with buddy Ajay Devgn for portraying them as animated characters and making fun of them in upcoming movie Toonpur Ka Superrhero, and that too without taking them in confidence. The film directed by Kirit Khurana will hit the theatres next week.
A source informs Mid Day, "In the film Ajay plays himself, a big star, who turns into a superhero for his son. There's a scene where he's shown shooting for his film Omkara (which also starred Saif and Kareena). They are part of the scene Saif, Kareenabut their characters have been portrayed in a comic manner."
"Saif is seen sporting a tattoo of Kareena on his left forearm as he does in real life even though during Omkara Saif and Kareena were not dating each other and neither did Saif have any tattoo. It was Ajay's idea to incorporate some fun elements into the film and makeit topical," continues the source.
It doesn't stop here, Saif's character is seen poking fun at Saif and his beloved Kareena Kapoor. Adds the source, "In Toonpur too Ajay's character is seen making fun of Saif, his tattoo and his love for Kareena while Kareena's character is a hot chick who is trying to seduce Ajay. Saif's character is seen sporting sidelocks and goatee, the look Saif had a few months ago."
On the top of it Saif and Kareena were not informed about the spoof. According to sources, the couple however would react only after watching the movie.
Farah's babies on her company banner
The logo of Three’s Company, Shrish Kunder and Farah Khan’s banner, has three little angels in silhouette. They are actually their babies — Czar, Diva and Anya — and the images have been taken from the sonography footage Kunder shot when his wife was pregnant with the triplets.
“There’s a frame in which they are close to each other. The first few seconds of the logo will show the trio before their birth in the film’s credits. I animated the images and gave them wings because we both believe that our babies are angels who have changed our lives. Hopefully, their magic will rub off on our company and first production too.” The idea for the logo, he says, came to him a year ago. “We were looking for something with an emotional connect.” Adds Kunder, “Yes, I’ve shown it to the kids and they’re jealous of these other babies who they think I have adopted,” chuckles the amused father of the almost three year olds.
farahIncidentally, the banner was earlier called Shrish Kunder Film Company. But in 2008, when the three little angels entered his life, it changed to Three’s Company. It flags off on December 25 with it’s first production, Tees Maar Khan, that already has sky-high expectations. “Since Farah and our stars, Akshay (Kumar) and Katrina (Kaif) are pros, I had absolutely no stress as a producer. That begins now,” Kunder smiles.
He has written the script and had originally planned to direct it too. But then he believed that his wife, being the more successful director, was a better bet to helm their first production. Does her vision match his? “If you give the same script to five different directors, each one will make a different film. So once I handed over my script to her, I let it go,” he reasons.
Kunder however composed the theme track. He also worked on the songs of his directorial debut, Jaaneman, and composed the background score too. He insists that apart from AR Rahman, Bollywood does not have music directors who can compose a theme distinctive to a film.
“That’s why I decided to take on the job myself,” he says, admitting that while his director-wife has been raving about the James Bond-like track, he himself is too critical to be an unbiased judge: “I can only find faults.” It’s a thrill hearing Sheila ki jawani everywhere he goes. But he refuses to compare it to the Dabangg item number Munni badnaam hui, rationalising that every three months a new song comes along and is a rage.
The Tees Maar Khan sequel will flag off in January 2012. Before that Kunder will direct two films, Joker with Akshay Kumar and Sonakshi Sinha, and Kick with Salman Khan and Sinha again. “Thanks to the stars, both films have already generated enough excitement. Now I have to deliver,” he says, adding, “This year, Farah was the one who got up early and went out shooting. Next year, the tables will turn.”
Akshay returns to action roots with Prabhu Deva
Bollywood's original 'khiladi' Akshay Kumar's next will be a "big action movie" directed by Prabhu Deva.
The 43-year-old actor is in London to promote his much awaited comic caper 'Tees Maar Khan, where he stars alongside Katrina Kaif.
"My next film will be a big action movie, produced by Prabhu Deva , the South Indian actor-choreographer and filmmaker," said Akshay.
In 'Tees Maar Khan', Akshay Kumar plays a shameless con man, Tabrez Mirza Khan aka Tees Maar Khan aka TMK, in a role inspired by English folklore hero Robin Hood
. "He steals and cheats with alarming audacity with his gang comprising of Dollar, Soda and Burger," said the film's director Farah Khan, whose previous two films 'Main Hoon Na' and 'Om Shanti Om' have been blockbusters.
Akshay's partner in crime is Katrina who plays Anya, a wannabe actress, who sizzles on screen with 'Sheila Ki Jawaani', which has already become a chartbuster.
TMK is aided by an unwitting accomplice, actor Atish Kapoor played by Akshaye Khanna and joined by fellow Bollywood showmen, Salman Khan and Anil Kapoor, in special cameos.
The film which be will released globally with 2,500 prints on Wednesday, was filmed in 58 days, Farah said.
She said directing the climax of the film where Akshay robs antiques worth 500 crore rupees from a heavily guarded, moving train, was the most challenging job.
"We created the whole train and a 2 km track and it was the most difficult task," she said.
'Munni' once more: Malaika teams with Suriya, NTR Junior
Malaika Arora Khan, who made the whole nation swoon to her beats with 'Munni Badnaam' earlier this year, even boosted the sales of Zandu Balm. The actress was roped in by the makers of Zandu Balm for a special promotional campaign.
Malaika recently shot a commercial for Zandu Balm on the same track, in three different languages -- Hindi, Tamil and Telugu
. While the Hindi commercial features only Malaika, in the Tamil one, she will be seen alongside South superstar Suriya and in the Telugu one alongside NTR Junior.
Apparently, all the three commercials have been shot atop a train a-la 'Chaiyyan Chaiyyan' and have been choreographed by Prabhudeva.
Ranbir Kapoor voted Sexiest Asian Man
The 'Rockstar' of Bollywood, Ranbir Kapoor has clinched the 'Sexiest Asian Man' title, beating off competition from favourites like John Abraham and Hrithik Roshan.
The Kapoor scion famous for his high-profile romances topped the survey conducted by the London weekly, Eastern Eye. "If the women didn't like me I would feel that something is going wrong, but it feels good. I do understand that the fans I have comprise mainly of women, it feels good to be wanted by so many women," said the 28-year-old actor.
Meanwhile, Eastern Eye showbiz editor Asjad Nazir, said that the actor claimed the title with a overwhelming margin.
"Usually it is a closely fought contest, where as this year there was one very clear winner. Winning by a large margin is remarkable when you consider the very high profile men who are in the list," said Asjad.
Ranbir, who made his acting debut with Sanjay Leela Bhansali's mega-budget film 'Saanwariya' has been going strong since his launch and has tasted commercial as well as critical success with films like 'Ajab Prem Ki Gazab Kahani', 'Wake Up Sid' and 'Rajneeti'.
Bollywood hunk John Abraham narrowly missed out on the top spot by finishing second. Hrithik Roshan occupied the third spot while R&B star Jay Sean and Pakistani singer-actor Ali Zafar bagged the fourth and fifth spots.
Others to make it to the top ten included world champion boxer Amir Khan and the highest places new entry is 'X-Factor' finalist Zain Malik.
