Kareena and Tusshar Kapoor party in Las Vegas
BollywoodWorld.com, Tusshar Kapoor has a good boy kind of an image and even he cannot resist the sins that the Sin City displays in galore. So when the guy went to Las Vegas recently, he was ready to be sinful and had no shame about that. After the success of Golmaal 3 the actor was invited to by co-star and good friend Kareena Kapoor to join her in Las Vegas, so Tusshar took two weeks break from the shooting of his film Hum Tum Aur Shabana and went to the place that never sleeps.
While at Vegas, the 34 year old actor had lots of fun and did exactly what he went there to do: chill out. Over there for those two weeks he blew his diet charts and the routine he follows to stay fit and healthy, he binged on pizzas, nachos, pastas and even ate rice in the night. According to Tusshar the only thing that saved a bit was his yoga instructor Payal who also happens to be Kareena’s instructor too. So every morning the Kapoor lad did his yoga and then again went out to have his share of food.
Trips to restaurants like Cheesecake Factory, Denise, Tao and Lavo were included too and the guy even gambled at the Caesar’s Palace casino and relived his childhood memories by getting a rollercoaster ride after 25years.
Rani salutes crime reporters with No One Killed Jessica
Bollywood actress Rani Mukherjee, who finds the job of a crime reporter risky and difficult, says one would respect and salute them after seeing her up-coming film `No One Killed Jessica'.
"When we see crime reporters on TV we do not understand how difficult and risky their work is. I think in a day-to-day life, crime reporting is more risky as they are unaware of what assignment they would go for. They go to weird and dangerous places. Especially for girls it is tougher," Rani said.
'No One Killed Jessica' is based on model Jessica Lall who was shot dead in 1999 by Manu Sharma, son of a Haryana politician, in a Delhi night club. "Through my character in the film I am sure people will respect and salute them for the kind of job they do. It is very fascinating profession where the basic job requirement is to be fearless and brave. I feel great that I am portraying the role of a crime reporter," the 32-year-old actress said.
Directed by Rajkumar Gupta, the film features Vidya Balan as Jessica's sister Sabrina, who fought the case to get justice and Rani plays a journalist in the movie. "The very fact that I am playing a journalist in the film is also one of the reasons why I am part of it. It is the first time that media is shown in a powerful light in the movie," the Bengali beauty said.
The actress
feels the media played a key role in delivering justice in the controversial Jessica Lall case. "During this case, the media was instrumental in making people aware and also in awakening them. And because of which there was public outcry. It shook the judicial system of our country," Rani said.
At a time when people are concerned about their own lives and cares for no one, everyone stood up for a girl whom they don't know. It showed that people of India are together in their fight for injustice, she added.
About her character, Rani said, "The director wanted me to put my own colour into the character. There were lot of reporters who were actively involved in this case but in a film we couldn't have all of it. So I'm trying to amalgamate all of them into one character called Meera. It would be unfair to say I got inspired by a particular journalist."
The film releases on January 7.
Behind the scenes: Hema Malini takes to production
The Bollywood beauty, who returns to the small screen as a daily soap producer, gives a feel about the show and her film production, Tell Me Oh Khuda:
Why did you decide to produce Maati ki Banno?
I have been producing TV shows for a few years now and this story was very inspiring. I felt the story of this young, innocent girl undergoing all the misery needed to be told. So I decided to produce it.
What is the story line of the show?
It’s a story of the struggle of an innocent girl from Mauritius who comes to Bihar. It’s an absolute roller-coaster ride for the girl and how she gains strength from all her endeavours forms the crux of the show.
You took a break from TV production for a few years. Why is that?
I was a Member of Parliament and at that time I could not have produced any shows. But now that my term is over, I have the time to get back to television.
Which is your favourite show on TV?
It’s tough to choose. I like the shows on Colors and Star Plus. I really like Jhansi ki Rani.
According to you which medium reaches out to the people more — TV or films?
You can’t compare the two media. Through television we connect closely with the characters because we are viewing them almost everyday. Films, on the other hand are more glamorous and dreamy.
How do you think Indian television has evolved over a decade?
It’s a lot more competitive. It is difficult to sustain a show on television. Fortunately, only a strong script, a good story line and impressive characters can make a show work.
Which is your first love — films or TV?
Films, without a doubt.
You acted in Jai Maa Durga few years ago. Will we see you on the small screen again?
No, I am happy producing. As of now, I will not be doing any shows on TV.
What is the status of the film, Tell Me Oh Khuda you are doing with your daughter Esha Deol?
We are done filming it and it’s in the post-production stage. It should release in early 2011.
How do you think the audience will react to Dharmendra’s Yamla Pagla Deewana?
The promos are looking very good and the chemistry between the father and sons is clearly visible. They behave more like friends in the film. I think the film
will do very well. We are all looking forward to it.
